Afghanistan Flooding and Landslides Kill 28, injure 49

In Afghanistan, severe weather has caused serious damage and loss of life. Heavy rain, flooding, landslides, and thunderstorms have killed 28 people and injured 49 others.

The Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority said the bad weather has been continuing for several days. In some areas, lightning strikes also added to the deaths and injuries. Officials warned that the number of victims may increase as rescue teams reach remote and affected areas.

The floods and landslides have destroyed roads, bridges, and farmland, making it difficult for rescue workers to reach some villages. Many families have been forced to move to safer places.

Earlier this year, Afghanistan also faced similar disasters like flash floods and heavy snowfall, which caused many deaths and widespread damage. Authorities say the country is highly vulnerable to extreme weather conditions, especially during seasonal changes.

Rescue operations are still ongoing, and officials are trying to provide help and relief to affected communities.
