Afghanistan Strikes Pakistani Military Targets Amid Tensions

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence has said that its Air Force carried out coordinated air operations against several Pakistani military sites. In a statement posted on social media, the ministry said the strikes targeted important military installations in Pakistan.

According to Afghan officials, the targets included the Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, the 12th Division headquarters in Quetta, Balochistan, and the Khwazai Camp in the Mohmand area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The ministry also claimed that several key command centres were hit during the operation.

The Afghan government said that early reports suggest the strikes caused significant damage to the selected targets. Officials described the action as a response to recent Pakistani airstrikes inside Afghanistan. They said Pakistani forces had earlier carried out aerial attacks in Kabul and Bagram.

The ministry warned that any further violation of Afghan airspace or aggressive action by Pakistan would lead to a quick and strong response. It said Afghanistan is ready to defend its territory and sovereignty.

These developments come less than a week after Pakistan announced that it was at war with the Afghan Taliban administration following renewed cross-border clashes. Last Friday, Pakistan carried out airstrikes in Kabul and Kandahar, which increased tensions between the two neighbouring countries.

The situation between Afghanistan and Pakistan remains tense, with both sides accusing each other of aggression. There are growing concerns that continued military actions could lead to a wider conflict in the region.
