The first day of the AI Summit India 2026 in New Delhi faced criticism from many attendees due to poor arrangements and technical problems.
Several participants complained about long queues and overcrowding at the venue. Many said the registration system crashed, causing delays and confusion. Some attendees also reported theft of their devices during the event.
There were additional complaints about the cash-only payment system inside the venue, which caused inconvenience for visitors. People also pointed out the lack of proper seating and networking spaces, making it difficult for participants to interact and attend sessions comfortably.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Summit 2026 on Monday, February 16, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event is described as the first international AI summit hosted in the Global South.
The summit is scheduled to take place from February 16 to 20. It is being held alongside the India AI Impact Expo 2026, which showcases innovations and developments in artificial intelligence.
While the summit aims to highlight India’s growing role in AI and technology, the issues on the opening day have drawn criticism from attendees and raised questions about event management and planning.
