AIADMK Releases Second List of 127 Candidates

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election 2026. The new list includes 127 candidates.

So far, the party has announced a total of 150 candidates, including 23 names from its first list. The second list was released by party general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

According to the list, 25 sitting MLAs have been given tickets again, while 10 current members have been dropped. The party has also included 16 women candidates in this list.

Some well-known leaders did not find a place in the new list. These include former ministers V. Saroja, V.M. Rajalakshmi, Vaigaichelvan, and K. Pandiarajan, also known as “Ma Foi” Pandiarajan. All of them had lost in the 2021 Assembly election.

The release of the second list shows that the party is making some changes while also keeping experienced leaders. The mix of new and old candidates reflects the party’s strategy for the upcoming election.

With more announcements expected soon, the political activity in Tamil Nadu is increasing as parties prepare for the elections.
