Air India Dreamliner FCS Defect Raises Safety Concerns

A defect in the fuel control switches (FCS), recently reported by Air India crew, has raised questions about whether the airline missed the problem during earlier safety checks of its Dreamliner fleet. Experts are asking if proper inspections were conducted after the Ahmedabad crash in June 2025, which tragically killed 260 people.

Following the latest incident, Air India has ordered another round of safety checks on all its Dreamliner aircraft. The airline says it wants to ensure that all planes are safe before they return to service.

The issue has put a spotlight on the airline’s maintenance and safety procedures, with aviation experts saying that thorough inspections are critical to avoid accidents. The fuel control switches play a key role in managing the engines, and any malfunction could affect flight safety.

Authorities and safety investigators are expected to look into the cause of the defect and confirm whether it could have been detected earlier. Meanwhile, Air India says it is taking all necessary precautions to ensure passenger safety.

The incident comes as a reminder of the importance of strict maintenance protocols for commercial aircraft, especially after a major accident in the past.
