Air India Suspends West Asia Flights

Air India has issued a fresh travel advisory due to the ongoing situation in West Asia. As a precautionary measure, the airline has extended the suspension of all flights to and from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Qatar until the end of today. The decision has been taken keeping passenger and crew safety as the top priority.

Apart from the suspension of flights to these Gulf destinations, some services to Europe scheduled for today have also been cancelled. These include flights from Amritsar to Birmingham, Delhi to Zurich, Delhi to Copenhagen, and the return service from Birmingham to Delhi. Passengers booked on these flights are being informed through SMS, email, and other communication channels.

Air India has clarified that other long-haul flights to North America and Europe will continue to operate as planned. However, these flights will follow alternative routes to avoid restricted or sensitive airspace in West Asia. Due to these route changes, travel time is expected to increase on certain sectors.

The airline stated that it is continuously monitoring the developments in the region. Before taking the decision to suspend and reroute flights, Air India assessed various factors such as safety conditions, security concerns, airspace availability, and operational feasibility. The airline emphasised that it will make further decisions based on how the situation evolves.

Passengers whose flights have been cancelled are advised to check the official Air India website or contact the airline’s customer care for rebooking options or refunds. The airline has assured that it will provide all necessary assistance to minimise inconvenience.

Air India also said that updates will be shared regularly as it continues to review the situation. The advisory reflects the airline’s effort to ensure safe operations while managing disruptions caused by the current regional tensions.
