The Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured several major victories in Andhra Pradesh’s municipal elections held on Tuesday, November 3. The alliance won in Kuppam, Macherla, Yemmiganur, Narasapuram, and Palasa-Kasibugga, strengthening its position in local politics across the state.
The NDA also maintained a strong lead in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), highlighting its growing political influence in the region. The results marked an important development for the ruling alliance as it continued to perform strongly in local body elections.
Vote counting began at 8 am with postal ballots being counted first. Officials then started counting votes from individual wards before moving on to larger divisions. The results were announced gradually throughout the day as the counting process progressed.
The systematic counting process helped officials release election results in stages and maintain an organized approach to announcing the outcomes.
The NDA’s victories across several municipalities are expected to strengthen the alliance’s position in Andhra Pradesh. The results also provide an indication of the political support enjoyed by the parties in different parts of the state.
The municipal election outcomes are likely to influence the political strategies of various parties as they prepare for future electoral challenges.
