Anna University Plans TANCET Postponement

Anna University is planning to conduct the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) in May this year instead of the earlier schedule.

TANCET is a key entrance exam for students who want to study MBA and MCA courses in engineering, arts, and science colleges across Tamil Nadu.Usually, the exam is conducted earlier in the year. However, university officials are considering shifting it to May. An official announcement about the revised dates is expected soon.

For admission to ME and MTech programmes offered by university departments and government engineering colleges, Anna University conducts a separate exam called the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admissions (CEETA). This exam is meant for postgraduate engineering courses.

Every year, thousands of students appear for TANCET and CEETA to secure admission in postgraduate programmes. The exams play a key role in determining eligibility and merit for admissions in both government and private institutions.

University authorities said the change in schedule is being planned after reviewing academic timelines and other administrative factors. Students are advised to regularly check the official website of Anna University for updates regarding exam dates, application deadlines, and other instructions.

The postponement is expected to give students additional time to prepare for the entrance examinations. Once the new dates are confirmed, detailed information about the exam schedule and counselling process will be released.
