ASEAN-India Senior Officials’ Meeting Co-Chaired in Manila

The 28th ASEAN-India Senior Officials’ Meeting was held in Manila. The meeting was led by P Kumaran from India and Leo M Herrera-Lim from the Philippines.

During the meeting, officials from both sides reviewed the progress made on decisions taken at the ASEAN-India Summit held last October. They discussed how these plans are being carried out and what more can be done.

The officials also talked about ways to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between ASEAN and India. They focused on improving cooperation in different areas such as trade, security, and regional development.

One of the main topics was the upcoming 2026 ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation. This initiative aims to increase collaboration in maritime activities, including shipping, safety at sea, and protecting marine resources.
