BCCI Contract Revamp May Impact Kohli, Rohit

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may soon make major changes to its central contract system, which could affect senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. At present, both players are placed in the top A+ category.

According to sources quoted by ANI, the BCCI is considering removing the A+ category altogether. If this proposal is approved, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma could be moved to a lower contract group, likely Category B.

The report said the proposal was put forward by the selection committee led by former India cricketer Ajit Agarkar. The committee has suggested reducing the current four-tier contract system to just three categories — A, B, and C.

If implemented, the change would mark a significant shift in how the BCCI structures its player contracts. However, no official decision has been announced yet, and clarity is expected once the board finalises the new contract framework.
