While the process of updating the voter list, called the Special Identity
Revision (SIR), is ongoing, the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) has accused the
ruling DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) government of unfairly using its power
to affect the outcome.
Allegations of Misuse
These worries were discussed on Friday at a review meeting led by BJP national
general secretary Tarun Chugh.
Former BJP state president K. Annamalai attended the meeting. (The current
president was away at a rally).
Annamalai told reporters that the BJP had found many fake voters.
He stated that the DMK was misusing its official authority in many
locations.
