Blasts Rock Manipur’s Kangpokpi District Ahead of Second Phase of Voting

Three blasts occurred on a bridge along National Highway-2 near Saparmeina in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district at around 1 a.m. on April 24, just days before the second phase of Lok Sabha elections. While no injuries were reported, traffic along the route, which is crucial for supplying essential items to the Imphal Valley, has been affected.

Security forces have cordoned off the area, and investigations are underway. However, small vehicles can still pass through the area, bypassing the affected section. These blasts add to the existing tension in Manipur, which has witnessed violence and booth-capturing during the first phase of voting held on April 19
