Bomb Threat at Dehradun Court Hoax

The district court in Dehradun received a bomb threat through an email, police said. The message warned about a possible explosive device inside the court premises, causing concern among officials and visitors.

As soon as the threat was received on Wednesday (February 18, 2026), police and security teams rushed to the court complex. A thorough search operation was carried out, and people inside the building were asked to remain alert. Security personnel carefully checked courtrooms, offices, and surrounding areas.

After a detailed inspection, officials confirmed that no suspicious objects or explosives were found. Police later declared the bomb threat to be a hoax.

Authorities said they are investigating the source of the email and trying to identify the person responsible for sending the false threat. Legal action is likely to be taken against those involved, as issuing fake bomb threats is a serious offence.

Normal activities at the court resumed after security teams completed their checks and confirmed that the premises were safe.
