A group of five Brazilian football officials visited Dhaka on August 23, sparking rumors of a possible friendly match between Brazil and Bangladesh. The delegation inspected the National Stadium in Dhaka and met with officials from the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
The visit followed their inspection of Kolkata’s Saltlake Stadium, where Brazil is set to play India on October 3. The Brazilian officials assessed the facilities at the National Stadium, including the pitch, dressing rooms, and other amenities.
Sources suggest that a friendly match against Bangladesh could take place on October 6 as part of Brazil’s Asian tour. This would mark Brazil’s first visit to Bangladesh for a football match. However, BFF member Iqbal Hossain clarified that no official decision has been made yet.
The delegation also visited Basundhara Kings’ training facility and discussed the possibility of future matches. The officials noted that Bangladesh’s stadium preparation is ongoing and may require additional work. They expressed interest in returning if needed to finalize plans.
