Jasprit Bumrah made a joke about Temba Bavuma’s height while talking about
a DRS review on the first day of the first Test against South Africa at
Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday. A video of the moment quickly went
viral on social media.
The incident happened in the 13th over of South Africa’s innings after
they chose to bat first. Bavuma came in to bat after opener Aiden Markram
was dismissed. This was Bavuma’s first match since recovering from an
injury, and he looked uncomfortable facing Bumrah at the start.
Bavuma misjudged a good-length ball while trying to play it, and the ball
hit him on the back of his thigh.
