California Declares Emergency Ahead of Severe Storm

In the United States, California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles County as heavy rain and strong winds are expected from an approaching storm. In a social media post, the Governor warned that flash flooding is very likely in Southern California.

An alert has also been issued for falling trees and power outages in Northwest California. The state government has already deployed more than 250 personnel and equipment across 14 counties to handle the storm. Rescue teams, fire engines, and helicopters have been placed in advance to respond quickly to emergencies.
