Cash Seizure on Tiruneveli Express Raises Political Speculations

In a significant development, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Tambaram seized a staggering ₹3.99 crore in unaccounted cash from three individuals aboard the Tiruneveli Express. Acting on a tip-off suggesting the cash was intended for a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate contesting in Tirunelveli, GRP officers conducted an inspection and discovered bundles of ₹500 notes in the possession of Satish, Naveen, and their driver Perumal.

The seized cash and the individuals were promptly handed over to Income Tax Department officials for further investigation. This incident has sparked political speculations and raised concerns over the potential misuse of funds in electoral processes, prompting the involvement of the Income Tax Department to delve deeper into the matter.
