Centre Raises Funding for Viksit Bharat GRAM G

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the Centre’s funding
under the Viksit Bharat: GRAM G scheme has increased from ₹86,000 crore to nearly
₹95,000 crore. He said this shows the government’s continued and stronger support
for rural jobs.

In an article published in an English daily, Chouhan said the President has approved
The new law increases the guaranteed wage employment from the earlier limit to 125 days.

He added that under this scheme, states are not seen only as implementing bodies
but as development partners. States are given the power to announce and run their
own schemes within the rules of the law.
