The plaza work at Chennai airport has been delayed again and will now be
completed only by December. Because of this, air passengers will have to
wait at least one more month to use a proper pick-up point near the terminals
for boarding cabs.
Right now, passengers who arrive at the airport have to either walk or take a
buggy to the multi-level car parking area to get a cab. Many travellers are
unhappy with this arrangement because it is inconvenient, especially when
they have luggage or are tired after a long flight.
Once the new plaza opens, passengers will be able to take a cab directly
from that spot, which will make travel easier and smoother. The project was
expected to be finished earlier, but repeated delays have pushed the opening
date further. Airport users hope this will be the final delay and that the plaza
will finally be ready in December.
