Chennai Corporation Schools Achieve 92% Pass Rate

Chennai: Chennai Corporation schools have shown a strong improvement in this year’s Class 12 public examination results, achieving an overall pass percentage of 92.26%.

Out of the 5,179 students who appeared for the exams, 4,778 successfully passed. This marks an impressive 4.14% increase in the pass percentage compared to last year.

Girls performed better overall, recording a pass percentage of 94.11%, while boys achieved 89.85%.

However, boys showed greater year-on-year improvement. Their pass percentage increased by 6.15% compared to last year, while girls saw a 2.65% improvement.

In district rankings, Chennai secured the 29th position with a 90.60% pass rate among government schools, including corporation schools.

Among the city’s schools, Nungambakkam Girls Higher Secondary School maintained its outstanding performance by achieving a 100% pass rate for the second consecutive year.

This year, Chennai Higher Secondary School in CIT Nagar also joined this elite category by securing a perfect 100% result.

Student academic excellence was also reflected in centum scores. Across 35 corporation higher secondary schools, 173 students scored full marks in various subjects.

Of these, 154 were girls and 19 were boys.

This is a huge rise compared to last year, when only 54 centum scores were recorded.

Additionally, 43 students scored between 551 and 600 marks, while 241 students scored between 501 and 550 marks.

These results highlight the improving quality of education in Chennai Corporation schools and reflect the hard work of students, teachers, and school administrators. The significant rise in pass percentage and top scores indicates growing academic strength in the city’s public education system.
