Chennai Residents Association Organizes 8th Waste Collection Drive in Adyar

The Kasturba Nagar Association’s Residents (ROKA) in Chennai is gearing up for its eighth waste collection drive scheduled for January 6 and January 7 at The Chennai High School in Kamaraj Avenue. Operating between 10 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., ROKA has collaborated with Wasted 360 and Recycle Mart for the collection of diverse items such as e-waste, clothing (usable, torn, or unusable), mattresses, cushions, pillows, unusable footwear, X-rays, empty tablet strips, glass bottles, ballpoint pens, soft and hard plastics, and books.

The association emphasizes the need for washed and separately packed inner garments and socks, while all plastics must be cleaned and dried, and glassware should remain intact. A refillable truck will be on-site for people to replenish cleaning supplies using their containers. Additionally, a thrift stall offers an opportunity for Pongal festival shopping.
