Christmas Carol Clash Injures Several in Kerala

Several people were injured after a fight broke out between two Christmas carol groups in the Charummoodu–Nooranad area of Kerala’s Alappuzha district late on Christmas Eve, police said.

The incident happened around 11.30 pm when an argument between the two groups suddenly turned into a physical clash. The carol groups were led by members of two local youth clubs named Yuva and Liberty, who were moving through the area as part of Christmas celebrations.

Police said the situation became tense as members from both groups began arguing, which later led to pushing and fighting. People in the area were shocked by the incident, as Christmas carol singing is usually a peaceful and joyful tradition.

Several people suffered injuries during the clash and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Police reached the spot soon after and brought the situation under control. An inquiry has been launched to find out what exactly triggered the fight, and further action will be taken based on the investigation.
