Chief Minister MK Stalin will visit Erode to open a memorial hall and a statue
of freedom fighter Pollan, who served as a commander under Theeran Chinnamalai.
The government built the memorial hall and Pollan’s statue at a cost of ₹4.90
crore, based on a request from the Pollan History Retrieval Committee. Stalin
will inaugurate the hall in Modakurichi, Erode, on November 26.
He will also pay tribute to the statue of Theeran Chinnamalai in Odanilai, Erode.
During his visit, Stalin will unveil a statue of SK Paramasivan in Chitode.
Paramasivan is known as the father of the milk revolution in Tamil Nadu and
played a key role in creating the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Federation Ltd
(AAVIN).
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the world-class Semmozhi Poonga in
Coimbatore on November 25. The park was built with modern facilities at a cost of
₹208.50 crore. The idea for this project was first announced in 2010 by former
Chief Minister M Karunanidhi during the World Classical Tamil Conference.
