CM Vijay meets with CII team, auto sector, promises govt support for expansion plans

Chennai: Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay held a series of important meetings on Friday at the State Secretariat with various industry leaders, government departments, and organizations to discuss the development of Tamil Nadu’s economy.

The meetings focused on several key areas, including industrial growth, attracting new investments, improving logistics and transport systems, increasing exports, and supporting agriculture. Special attention was also given to irrigation and planning for Kuruvai cultivation, which is an important farming season in the state.

In the first meeting, the Chief Minister spoke with office-bearers of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), including representatives from southern India. They discussed ways to improve the business environment in Tamil Nadu and encourage more companies to invest in the state.

He also met representatives from automobile manufacturing companies and officials from the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). These discussions focused on expanding the manufacturing sector, creating new job opportunities, and strengthening industrial infrastructure across the state.

Officials from the agriculture department also took part in the discussions. They briefed the Chief Minister on preparations for the upcoming Kuruvai cultivation season and steps being taken to ensure better water management and support for farmers.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for balanced development across all sectors. He said that industrial growth and agricultural progress must go hand in hand to ensure long-term economic stability and prosperity for Tamil Nadu.

Overall, the meetings highlighted the government’s focus on boosting investment, improving infrastructure, and supporting both industries and farmers to drive sustainable growth in the state.
