Thousands of suburban train passengers on the west section in Chennai are
waiting for the night train services to return. These trains were cancelled
two years ago, causing many problems for factory workers. Passengers on
the north section also want night trains to Gummidipoondi to start again.
Normally, a new train timetable is released every January.
Two years ago, when the suburban timetable was released, Southern Railway
cancelled around 60 services across different suburban routes, including
the midnight trains to Arakkonam and Gummidipoondi.
