Chandausi, Uttar Pradesh: A court in Chandausi, under Sambhal district, has ordered the police to register an FIR against former Sambhal Circle Officer Anuj Chaudhary, former Sambhal Kotwali in-charge Anuj Tomar, and 10 unidentified police personnel. The case is related to the Sambhal violence of 2024.
The order was passed on January 9 by Chief Judicial Magistrate Vibhanshu Sudhir after hearing a complaint filed by Yameen, whose son was injured during the unrest.
According to the complaint, Yameen’s 24-year-old son, Alam, was shot at by police on November 24, 2024, near the Shahi Jama Masjid area. At the time, Alam was reportedly selling papad when the incident took place.
Yameen named former CO Anuj Chaudhary and former Station House Officer Anuj Tomar as accused, along with 10 to 12 unidentified police personnel. The complaint was filed on February 6, 2025, and after several hearings, the court directed the police to register an FIR against all the accused officers.
The court’s order allows for a formal investigation into the incident, which occurred during a period of violence in Sambhal.
