Several flights and trains were disrupted today due to dense fog in Delhi and the
surrounding National Capital Region (NCR). Poor visibility affected air and rail
travel, causing inconvenience to many passengers.
Speaking to Akashvani News, a Delhi Airport official said that nearly 10 flights were
cancelled at Indira Gandhi International Airport because of low visibility caused by
fog. Some other flights were also delayed, as aircraft could not land or take off
safely during the early morning hours.
The Delhi Division of Indian Railways also reported problems in train services.
According to railway officials, the movement of many trains heading to Delhi was
affected by foggy conditions. Around 17 trains were delayed by more than three hours,
leaving passengers stranded at several stations.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that moderate fog is likely to continue
till the forenoon. It also predicted shallow fog during the night later today.
Authorities have advised travellers to check their flight and train schedules before
starting their journey, as fog conditions may continue to impact transport services.
