Dhaka Capitals Coach Mahbub Ali Zaki Dies Suddenly

In a tragic turn of events, Mahbub Ali Zaki, the assistant coach of the Dhaka Capitals, died after collapsing just before the team’s opening match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26 against the Rajshahi Warriors. The match was scheduled at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

The incident occurred during the Dhaka Capitals’ warm-up session, only a few minutes before the start of the game. Team medical staff rushed to help him and immediately began performing CPR in an effort to save his life. Afterward, he was quickly taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.

The shocking incident left players, officials, and fans in grief, as preparations for the much-awaited opening match came to an abrupt halt. Officials and teammates expressed their sorrow and paid tribute to Zaki’s dedication to the team and his contribution to cricket in Bangladesh. The franchise announced that further updates regarding the match schedule and arrangements would be shared after ensuring the wellbeing of the team.

This sad event serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of life and has sent ripples of sadness across the BPL community.
