Novak Djokovic easily defeated Italian qualifier Francesco Maestrelli 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 on Thursday to reach the third round of the Australian Open.

Fourth seed Djokovic is chasing a record 11th Melbourne Park title and his 25th Grand Slam overall, which would equal the record held by Margaret Court. In the second-round match, Djokovic controlled the game comfortably without needing to play at his maximum level.

On the women’s side, reigning champion Madison Keys also moved into the third round after recovering from a shaky second set against Ashlyn Krueger. Keys showed her experience to secure the win and advance further in the tournament.

Both players now look forward to tougher challenges in the next round as the Australian Open progresses.
