Internationally acclaimed documentary and television filmmaker S. Krishnaswamy passed away on Sunday evening at a hospital in Chennai. He was 88 years old. Krishnaswamy was known for his long and remarkable career in non-fiction filmmaking and had produced more than 900 films. One of his most famous works was Indus Valley to Indira Gandhi, which earned him wide recognition in India and abroad.
According to his daughter, Gita Krishnaraj, Krishnaswamy had been suffering from a heart-related illness for some time. He was taken to the hospital on Sunday evening for treatment, where he later passed away.
