Ecuador Foreign Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld Visits India

Ecuador’s Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility Minister, Gabriela Sommerfeld, will begin a three-day official visit to India starting tomorrow, marking an important step in strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.

According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, Ms. Sommerfeld will meet External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on the first day of her visit. Their discussions are expected to focus on improving bilateral ties, expanding cooperation, and exploring new opportunities in areas of shared interest.

During her stay, Gabriela Sommerfeld will also visit Rajghat in New Delhi, where she will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by laying a wreath at his memorial. This visit reflects respect for India’s history and its national leaders.

In the following days, the Ecuadorian minister is scheduled to meet several senior Indian leaders, including Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita.

These meetings are expected to cover important subjects such as trade, economic cooperation, healthcare partnerships, and diplomatic collaboration.

The visit highlights the growing partnership between India and Ecuador as both countries seek to deepen their relationship across multiple sectors. It is also expected to open doors for stronger cooperation in the future, further boosting political and economic engagement between the two nations.
