Egypt and Turkey have decided to strengthen their political and economic relations and work more closely together in the coming years. Both countries also set goals to increase trade and improve coordination on important regional issues.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Cairo for talks aimed at improving ties between the two nations. The leaders said they are committed to building stronger cooperation and restoring friendly relations.
During the visit, the two presidents co-chaired the second meeting of the Egypt-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. They also attended the closing session of the Egypt-Turkey Business Forum, where business leaders from both countries discussed trade and investment opportunities. These events marked a new phase in the relationship as both sides continue the process of normalising ties.
After the meeting, President Sisi said the talks were positive and both countries agreed to hold regular consultations. He also announced that the next meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council will take place in Ankara in 2028.
Officials said the renewed partnership is expected to boost trade, create more business opportunities, and help both countries work together on regional challenges.
