Eight more people have been arrested in Hong Kong for the major fire at the
Wang Fuk Court apartment building in Tai Po. The Hong Kong anti-corruption
agency is checking if there was corruption in the building’s repair and
maintenance work. The arrested people include engineering consultants,
scaffolding workers, and a middleman.
A local official said that firefighters have nearly completed the rescue
work after several days. The fire has killed 128 people, and around 200 people
are still missing.
