Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman led the 11th Pre-Budget meeting in New Delhi
today with experts from the infrastructure and energy sectors. This meeting was
held to prepare for the upcoming Union Budget 2026–27. Senior officials from the
Ministries of Power, Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Road Transport and Highways,
along with the Chairman of the Railway Board and the Chief Economic Adviser,
also attended.
Yesterday, the Finance Minister met with trade unions, labour groups, and
representatives from the tourism and hospitality sector. Every year, the Finance
Ministry holds several such meetings with experts, industry leaders, economists,
and state officials. These discussions help ensure that the Union Budget includes
different viewpoints and focuses on important economic needs.
