Fire Breaks Out at Ernakulam Broadway Market

A big fire broke out in the Broadway market area of Ernakulam, Kerala, early on Tuesday, December 30. Several shops near Sridar Cinema were damaged in the fire. The fire began in the Koluthara building complex located behind the theatre.

The incident was reported around 1.15 am. The three-storey building had many shops selling toys and fancy goods. These items helped the fire spread quickly through the building.

Fire and rescue teams from nine stations rushed to the scene after getting the alert. Firefighters worked for many hours to control the fire. Their quick action stopped the flames from spreading to nearby buildings in the busy market area.

So far, no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and officials are checking how much damage was caused to the shops.
