Fire Destroys 40 Tribal Homes in Kakinada

A major fire accident broke out in a village in Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday, destroying around 40 thatched houses belonging to tribal families. The fire left dozens of people homeless, but thankfully no one was injured or killed, according to the police.

The fire started in the early hours of the morning at Sarlanka village, which comes under the Prathipadu Assembly constituency. Because the houses were made of thatched roofs and flammable materials, the flames spread very quickly across the area.

At first, there were reports that the fire might have been caused by a gas leak. However, after a preliminary investigation, police said the blaze was most likely triggered by an electric short circuit in one of the houses.

Firefighters rushed to the spot and worked for several hours to bring the fire under control. Local officials and villagers also helped in the rescue efforts. Authorities are now assessing the extent of the damage and arranging temporary shelter and relief for the affected families.

Further investigation is under way to confirm the exact cause of the fire.
