Fresh Twist in Karnataka Leadership Battle

On a cloudy Thursday morning in Bengaluru, Karnataka Home Minister
G. Parameshwara, a close supporter of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, created a
political stir by saying he would accept DK Shivakumar as Chief Minister if
the party high command chose him. Just a few minutes later, another strong
supporter of Siddaramaiah, Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, said the opposite — that
Siddaramaiah would continue as Chief Minister.

This added a new twist to the ongoing leadership fight in Karnataka between
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar. The latest developments
have now shifted to Delhi, where both groups want the Congress leadership to make
a final decision.
