The three-day G20 Leaders’ Summit 2025 started in South Africa on Friday.
This summit is very important because it is the first time the G20 meeting
is being held in Africa. The theme for this year is “Solidarity, Equality
and Sustainability.”
South Africa has set several main goals for the summit. These include improving
disaster preparedness, helping low-income countries manage their debt, raising
money for clean and fair energy changes, and using important minerals to support
inclusive and sustainable development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Johannesburg on Friday evening to attend the
summit. On Saturday, he met South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the summit
venue.
