Gas Cylinder Blast Kills Chennai Worker

A 56-year-old man died in a tragic fire after a cooking gas cylinder exploded at his house near Red Hills in Chennai early on Thursday morning.

Police identified the victim as Paranthaman, a construction worker who lived in the Targas area of Angadu. He is survived by his wife Selvi, two daughters, and one son.

According to police, Paranthaman was known to struggle with alcohol addiction and often had arguments with family members at home.

The explosion reportedly caused a severe fire, and Paranthaman was trapped inside the house. He suffered fatal burn injuries and died at the scene.

Local residents and emergency responders rushed to the area after hearing the blast, but the fire spread quickly.

Police have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and whether any domestic dispute or accidental gas leak contributed to the incident.
