Customs officials at Trichy Airport in Tamil Nadu apprehended two individuals, including a woman, in connection with separate gold smuggling cases. In the first case, 646 grams of gold valued at Rs 38.70 lakh were found concealed in two gold wires within the beading of a stroller bag.
The second case involved gold concealed in paste form within the undergarments of a female passenger. The confiscated gold was seized under the Customs Act, and both passengers were arrested under the provisions of the Act.
