Government Aims to Link MSMEs With Global Markets

Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Jitan Ram Manjhi said that the government wants to connect India’s MSMEs with global markets and help them grow internationally. He made these remarks while inaugurating the World Futures Forum in New Delhi.

Speaking at the event, the Minister said that many countries are now interested in doing business with India. He added that this is a good opportunity for Indian MSMEs to expand their products and services to other parts of the world.

Mr Manjhi praised the World Futures Forum for supporting the MSME sector. He said the forum is helping businesses learn new ideas and modern methods, especially the use of digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence (AI). According to him, technology can help small businesses improve their work, reduce costs, and compete better in the market.

The Minister also stressed the importance of developing MSMEs in rural areas. He said India cannot achieve full development unless villages grow economically. Setting up small industries and businesses in rural regions can create jobs and improve the lives of people there.

He highlighted that India has more than 7.5 crore MSMEs, which provide jobs to over 33 crore people. This shows how important the sector is to the country’s economy and employment.

Mr Manjhi also welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, saying it gives special attention and strong support to the MSME sector. He expressed hope that the new measures will help small businesses grow faster and contribute more to India’s development.
