Governor Promulgates ₹1.30 Lakh Crore Vote-on-Account Budget for Andhra Pradesh
Governor S. Abdul Nazeer has issued an ordinance allowing the Andhra Pradesh government to withdraw nearly ₹1.30 lakh crore from the Consolidated Fund to cover expenditures from August to November 2024.
This interim budget, prompted by the recent general elections, grants the new administration additional time to finalize the full budget. The Vote-on-Account ensures funding for welfare and various capital expenditures across departments, including irrigation, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. With the State Legislature not in session, the ordinance is essential for maintaining fiscal operations as mandated by Article 266(3) of the Constitution.
