Greatest IPL Batter: McClenaghan Praises Virat Kohli

Former New Zealand cricketer and JioStar expert Mitchell McClenaghan has praised Indian star Virat Kohli, calling him the most consistent player in IPL history. Kohli recently became the first batsman to score 9000 runs in the tournament.

Kohli achieved this milestone during a match against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium, where his career began. He played a key role in RCB’s victory with a quickfire 23 off 15 balls, helping his team chase down 76 runs comfortably.

McClenaghan noted Kohli’s ability to adapt and grow throughout his IPL career. From batting in the lower middle order to becoming a top-order star, Kohli has proven himself as a versatile and determined player. The expert also predicted that Kohli is on track to reach an impressive 10,000 IPL runs soon.

Kohli currently holds 9,012 runs in 275 matches, with an average of 40.05 and a strike rate of 133.05. He is fourth in the Orange Cap race this season, leading RCB to sixth wins out of eight games, securing them second place in the league standings.

In the match against DC, RCB’s bowlers, including Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar, performed exceptionally well, restricting DC to 75 runs. RCB’s batters, including Jacob Bethell, Devdutt Padikkal, and Kohli, sealed the chase quickly, ensuring another victory for their team.
