Viral Video Sparks Gurugram Road Rage Dispute
A video showing a car colliding with a motorcycle on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road has gone viral on social media, leading to a dispute between the biker and the car driver over what caused the accident.
The biker, identified as Sia, shared two videos of the incident on Instagram. She questioned the driver’s claim that the collision was accidental and expressed anger over the fact that he allegedly did not stop after the crash.
One of the videos shows the car changing lanes before hitting Sia’s motorcycle and then continuing to drive away. Another video, recorded by a camera mounted on Sia’s motorcycle, captures the collision and shows her falling from the bike.
Sia has alleged that the driver deliberately hit her and then fled the scene. She described the incident as a hit-and-run and said the driver should have stopped immediately after the collision to check whether she was injured.
The driver has been identified as Kalyan Baisla. He has given a different version of events, saying he was forced to take a U-turn and that Sia suddenly moved in front of his vehicle. He has denied intentionally hitting her.
Baisla also claimed that he did not realise that Sia was a woman at the time of the incident because her long hair was not visible to him. Sia has disputed his explanation and said the video appears to show the car following her group before the collision.
Sia also questioned why the driver failed to stop after the accident, regardless of who was responsible for the crash. She said she suffered injuries to her knees but believes her protective riding gear prevented more serious injuries.
The incident has also raised questions about road safety and the treatment of two-wheeler riders. Sia expressed frustration over what she believes is unequal treatment of bikers compared with car drivers and called for greater accountability on the roads.
She also criticised the police response, saying the driver’s vehicle registration number was included in her social media post but that she was frustrated that he had not been arrested at the time of her statement.
Following the incident and the circulation of the videos online, Gurugram Police registered an FIR. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are expected to take legal action if the driver is found guilty.
The viral footage has drawn widespread attention, with many people debating road safety, responsible driving and the importance of stopping to help after an accident. The police investigation will determine what happened and whether the driver’s actions amounted to a criminal offence.
