For the past three days, continuous heavy rainfall has caused serious flooding in
many residential areas of Thoothukudi district. On Tuesday, several neighbourhoods
were filled with water, making it difficult for people to move around and carry
on with their daily activities. Roads were waterlogged, and some families
struggled to leave their homes safely.
A similar situation has been reported in Nagapattinam, where heavy rain has
entered many houses. Residents are finding it hard to manage the stagnant water,
which is now causing discomfort and raising health concerns. Many people have
requested the authorities to act quickly by pumping out the water, clearing the
drainage system, and helping restore normal life as soon as possible.
Local officials are expected to send teams to assess the situation and take
emergency measures to reduce flooding and support affected families.
