IAEA Finds No Proof of Iran Bomb

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano Grossi, has said that there is no evidence that Iran is currently building a nuclear bomb.

In a post on social media, Mr. Grossi explained that while there is no proof of an active weapons programme, there are still serious concerns about Iran’s nuclear activities. He pointed out that Iran has built up a large stockpile of uranium enriched to levels close to weapons-grade. Such high levels of enrichment are not normally required for civilian nuclear energy purposes.

He also raised concerns about Iran’s refusal to give full access to IAEA inspectors. According to Mr. Grossi, inspectors need proper access to facilities, documents, and sites to verify that nuclear materials are not being used for military purposes.

Mr. Grossi said he has been clear and consistent in his official reports about Iran’s nuclear programme. He stressed that unless Iran cooperates fully and helps resolve outstanding safeguards issues, the IAEA cannot confirm that the country’s nuclear activities are entirely peaceful.

The IAEA is responsible for monitoring nuclear programmes around the world to ensure they are used only for civilian purposes, such as energy production and medical research. Without full cooperation from Iran, the agency says it cannot provide complete assurance to the international community.

The issue of Iran’s nuclear programme remains a major concern globally, especially at a time when tensions in the region are already high.
