India Karuna Collaborative (IKC), a group of non-profit organisations and
individuals working to stop animal suffering in India, has started several
new awareness programmes.
These programmes include a common pledge that aims to unite different
organisations and well-known people to promote animal welfare, value-based
education, and environmentally friendly living.
Reacting to the Supreme Court’s recent order to remove stray dogs from
places like schools, hospitals, bus stands, railway stations, and sports
complexes — and move them to shelters after sterilisation — IKC founders
Sethu Vaidyanathan and Parag Agarwal said there should be more humane,
science-based solutions to handle stray animals instead.
