The Madras High Court on Wednesday (November 26, 2025) reserved its decision on a request made by famous music composer R. Ilaiyarajaa. He asked the court to stop Hyderabad-based Mythri Movie Makers, the producers of the Tamil film Dude, from showing the movie anywhere — including on OTT platforms — because it contains the songs Nooru Varusham and Karutha Machan, which he originally composed for older films.
Justice N. Senthilkumar said he would give his order later. Ilaiyarajaa has filed a civil case asking for a permanent order to stop the production house from using his songs without permission. He also wants them to remove all such content immediately and reveal how much money they have earned by using the two songs illegally.
