Inbadurai Moves High Court Against DVAC

AIADMK MP Inbadurai has approached the Madras High Court, asking for permission to file a contempt petition against the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC). He alleged that the agency has failed to register a case against DMK Minister K.N. Nehru in the alleged cash-for-jobs scam, despite clear instructions from the court.

In his petition, Inbadurai stated that the High Court had earlier directed the vigilance department to take action and initiate proceedings against the minister. However, he claimed that the DVAC has not complied with those directions. According to him, this amounts to disobeying the court’s order, which is why he is seeking to file a contempt case.

The Rajya Sabha MP had already issued a formal warning to the vigilance agency a day earlier, stating that he would move the court if no action was taken. Since there was no visible progress, he decided to approach the High Court again.

This development comes at a time when Tamil Nadu is preparing for upcoming elections, making the issue politically sensitive. The alleged cash-for-jobs scam has already drawn public attention, and the latest legal move has added to the political debate in the State.

The High Court will now examine Inbadurai’s request and decide whether to allow him to file the contempt petition against the DVAC. The outcome of this case could have significant political and legal implications in the coming weeks.
