Virat Kohli Mimics John Cena’s Iconic Pose During India vs New Zealand ODI

Veteran Indian batter Virat Kohli added some fun to the first ODI against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday. He recreated the famous “You Can’t See Me” gesture popularized by WWE superstar John Cena during a break in play.

The moment happened when John Cena’s entrance theme was playing over the stadium speakers. Kohli, who was fielding, saw an opportunity to entertain and performed the iconic move directed at New Zealand batters Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips.

Kohli also had a strong performance in the field, taking two crucial catches during New Zealand’s innings. He first dismissed Nathan Smith, who struggled to score runs. Later, he caught Kyle Jamieson, helping India take key wickets.

New Zealand was eventually bowled out for 185 in 40.2 overs. Tim Seifert top-scored with 38 runs, while Glenn Phillips added 30. Blair Tickner contributed a late surge with 34 runs off 23 deliveries.

India’s bowling attack dominated the match, with Arshdeep Singh leading the way by taking four wickets. Gurnoor Brar and Anshul Kamboj also made significant contributions, claiming three and two wickets respectively.

India started the chase after winning the toss and opting to bowl first. They kept New Zealand under pressure throughout their innings, preventing them from building a strong total.

At the end of play, India was 54/1 in 10.5 overs, with Kohli and Shubman Gill unbeaten on 29 and 17 respectively. However, rain stopped play before the match could conclude, forcing both teams to return to their dressing rooms.
